Restorative dentistry
- Cavities, which are holes in your teeth created by harmful bacteria that live in your mouth
- Physical trauma that comes from an object making physical contact with teeth
- Excessive force during grinding of teeth
The mouth is a very active place and is used every day. Overtime all restorative materials can wear down. The porcelain materials in crowns and onlays can last decades if well maintained and not exposed to excessive force. Composite filling materials wear down quicker, especially on back teeth, with large portions of the tooth needing to be restored.
